Paraprofessional - Full-Time
Job Description
As part of our mission to pave the way for children’s success worldwide, Therapy Source is currently seeking a full-time Paraprofessional / Dedicated Aide to provide in-person services for a school-aged student. This position is for the Extended School Year (ESY) and the 2026-2027 school year.
Paraprofessional/ Dedicated Aide Salary Range: $30-$35 per hour
Paraprofessional/ Dedicated Aide Case Details:
This one-to-one assignment involves supporting an 11-year-old student with significant physical and personal care needs in a school setting. The student uses a wheelchair and requires assistance with transfers, toileting, and daily mobility throughout the school day. Candidates should be comfortable providing hands-on support and must have experience using a Hoyer lift. Prior experience working with children in educational settings and supporting students with complex physical needs is required. Consistency is important for this role, as the selected aide will support the student during both the ESY program and the 2026-2027 school year.
Schedule & Duration:
ESY:
• July 7, 2026 – July 30, 2026
• Monday - Thursday
• Staff hours: 8:45 AM – 12:15 PM
• Student hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
2026-2027 School Year:
• September 1, 2026 – June 18, 2027
• Staff hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Up to 32.5 hours per week
Paraprofessional/ Dedicated Aide Qualifications:
- Possession of (or willingness to obtain) up-to-date clearances
- Proof of individual professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
- Experience operating a Hoyer lift
Paraprofessional/ Dedicated Aide Essential Attributes:
- Adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the teacher for the purpose of providing an opportunity for students with disabilities or special needs to participate in classroom activities.
- Implement academic instruction taught by a teacher for individuals or small groups for the purpose of meeting learning goals, as described by an IEP and/or district benchmarks.
- Implement behavioral plans designed by IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions; document progress.
- Participate, as appropriate, in communication between school and home per a student’s IEP.
- Confer with teachers on a regular basis for the purpose of assisting in evaluating the progress of students with disabilities or special needs and/or implementing IEP objectives.
