Teacher of the Visually Impaired - 4 hours per week

As part of our mission to pave the way for children's success worldwide, Therapy Source is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide part-time in-person services for an 8th-grade public elementary school student with a vision impairment of retinoblastoma. To access her educational curriculum, she requires all instructional and testing materials to be presented in Braille or electronically to be retrieved with the use of her note taker with refreshable Braille and JAWS. This position is for the 2023/2024 school year.

Teacher of the Visually Impaired Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Teacher of the Visually Impaired Hours Needed: 4 hours per week of direct services / 1 hour per month of consultative services

Teacher of the Visually Impaired Qualifications:

• School Certification in the District of Columbia
• Possession of (or willingness to obtain) up-to-date clearances
• Proof of individual professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain) 

Teacher of the Visually Impaired Responsibilities May Include:

• Developing material and lesson plans
• Evaluating and accessing students' performance
• Participating in parent/teacher conferences
