Teacher of the Hearing Impaired (THI)- Part-Time - Virtual & In-Person
Job Description
As part of our mission to pave the way for children’s success worldwide, Therapy Source is currently seeking Teachers of the Hard of Hearing to provide services to charter school students. There are a total of 6 charter schools, with one school allowing virtual services for a student who requires about 1.5 hours/week of services. The other 5 Philadelphia charter schools are in need of the THI to come into school to provide services during the school day.
These positions are for the remainder of the current school year, continuing into ESY and the 2024/2025 school year.
Teacher of the Hearing-Impaired Days/Hours Needed: Monday-Friday/9:00am-3:00pm. Approximately 2-10 hours/week
Teacher of the Hearing-Impaired Salary Range: $65-$70 per hour
Teacher of the Hearing-Impaired Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Hearing Impaired in the state of Pennsylvania
- Possession of (or willingness to obtain) up-to-date clearances
- Proof of individual professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)
Teacher of the Hearing Impaired Responsibilities May Include:
- Evaluating and determining appropriate itinerant services based on student needs
- Providing ongoing support to teachers regarding the needs of the D/HOH student
- Recommending and assisting with adaptations for classroom instruction
- Providing direct services with the use of the appropriate mode of communication
- Using assistive technology with student(s)
