Job Description
As part of our mission to pave the way for children's success worldwide, Therapy Source is seeking a School Counselor to provide in-person services for public elementary school students.
This position is for the current school year.
School Counselor Scheduling: Monday-Friday/ 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
School Counselor Qualifications:
- Virginia Department of Education School Counselor Certification OR an active Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC) license issued by the Virginia Department of Health Professionals (DHP). In addition to the LPC, the Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) may be eligible
- Possession of (or willingness to obtain) up-to-date clearances
- Proof of individual professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)
School Counselor Responsibilities Include:
- Identifying and assessing students in need of trauma support
- Conducting trauma-informed therapy and counseling interventions for at-risk students in individual, group, or family settings
- Responding to progress monitoring results and student assessment data
- Providing case management and direct intervention to students and families experiencing trauma, including those from low-income households, those who are homeless or in foster care, and students involved in the criminal justice system or experiencing mental illness or substance abuse disorder.
