Instructional Assistant/Paraprofessional - Full-Time
Job Description
As part of our mission to pave the way for children’s success worldwide, Therapy Source is currently seeking a full-time Dedicated Aide/Paraprofessional to provide in-person services for charter school students grades 3-8, likely working in areas of ELA or Math. 2-year Associate's Degree and Paraprofessional Certification in OH required. This position is for the remainder of the current school year, starting ASAP and going through June 30.
Position Overview: Assists in the supervision and instruction of students with disabilities or special needs in a regular or special education classroom; observes and documents student progress; implements plans for instruction; and provides clerical support, as needed.
Instructional Assistant/Paraprofessional Salary Range: $18-$20 per hour
Instructional Assistant/Paraprofessional Hours: Full-Time (7:30am - 4:00pm Monday-Friday, 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Instructional Assistant/Paraprofessional Qualifications:
- Possession of (or willingness to obtain) up-to-date clearances
- Proof of individual professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift and carry orders and deliveries short distances.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in a school environment.
- Able to draft and create documents and spreadsheets.
Instructional Assistant/Paraprofessional Essential Attributes:
- Adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the teacher for the purpose of providing an opportunity for students with disabilities or special needs to participate in classroom activities.
- Implement academic instruction taught by a teacher for individuals or small groups for the purpose of meeting learning goals, as described by an IEP and/or district benchmarks.
- Implement behavioral plans designed by IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions; document progress.
- Participate, as appropriate, in communication between school and home per a student’s IEP.
- Confer with teachers on a regular basis for the purpose of assisting in evaluating the progress of students with disabilities or special needs and/or implementing IEP objectives.
- Assist other staff members as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- When not supporting the department as a Dedicated Aide, you'll be required to: Support teachers as an additional instructor in the classroom; Teach courses and/or substitute teach as the sole instructor as necessary; and perform administrative duties for the department.
